INFORMATION GRAPHICS

For municipal government organisation

THE CLIENT

Metro Vancouver is an organisation that serves over 2. 8 million people in the Vancouver and greater Vancouver areas of British Columbia, Canada. Metro manages regional parks systems, regulates air quality, delivers regional utility services, plans for urban growth…and more.

THE CHALLENGE

The client had just completed a regional parks visitor survey, and needed to visualise the results for the public. The 1-pager needed to be printable and also available digitally.

Key considerations included making the survey highlights succinct, approachable, and easily digestible…all while maintaining Metro’s in-depth brand standards.

THE SOLUTION

When I first started this project, I re-visited Metro Vancouver’s comprehensive design standards. The organisation has a large brand [and numerous sub-brands], and making sure typefaces, colours, and styles fell within this framework was essential.

With this context in mind, I organised the page’s information into four main horizontal divisions. To create hierarchy, I enlarged key parts of the type, and designed icons (and adjusted existing ones) to fit the simple, friendly 1-pager vibe. All of these elements combined to helped deliver valuable information while not overwhelming the viewer.
